Frequently Asked Questions

What Is Integrated Attachment Theory?

An integrated attachment theory coach is a professional who helps clients achieve their emotional and relationship goals – whether it's family, friendship, romantic or work goals , e.g., finding a soul mate, landing a dream job, growing a business, enhancing relationships, changing habits, becoming an effective leader, or discovering a purpose in life.

Sometimes, people are not clear about what exactly they want. Attachment theory coaching provides guidance on how to make decisions at various crossroads in life.

This type of coaching offers no magic bullets or quick fixes. Rooted in the principles of attachment theory and affective liminal psychology, it empowers clients to generate lasting transformation. Just as it takes time to build physical muscles, an attachment theory coach helps clients build their mental, emotional, and spiritual “muscles” so they can approach life more effectively. Clients will gradually develop the strength to face challenges in life with greater ease and grace.

How Do You Help Your Clients?

My coaching is all about following your own unique path. I help you discover what excites you, what is meaningful to you, and what has been holding you back. Together, we design a personalized action plan to help you move forward and stay on track.

Ido this by helping clients understand their attachment style and how it impacts their emotions, relationships, and behaviors. By guiding clients through the process of identifying and healing deep-rooted emotional wounds, I help them develop healthier relationship patterns and improve emotional regulation. Through personalized strategies, I empower clients to build secure attachments, set boundaries, and achieve greater emotional resilience and well-being.

I achieve this by providing guidance, support, tools, and feedback. Accountability is a key element here. Research shows that people are much more likely to complete a task when they are held accountable for the results.

To me, coaching is an intimate, synergistic partnership. By combining intuitive perceptivity with cutting-edge coaching techniques, I help you shift your awareness and connect with a deeper sense of purpose. This will inspire you to take action, leading to sustainable change.

What Is Your Background?

My formal education includes a Bachelors in nursing science, and certifications in Integrated attachment theory and affective liminal psychology. I am also certified in mindfulness practices. I have worked as an alcohol freedom coach as well as an integrated attachment theory coach. I have been coaching since november of 2022. Having found these coaching practices to be key in my own life journey I decided to make it my mission to bring these healing modalities to others.

What Happens During a Coaching Session?

We start by going through my client discovery questionnaire to establish your current challenges and what you want to work on. I ask questions designed to find your core wounds, challenge your assumptions and limiting beliefs, encourage your insights, and make a plan for your growth and healing. I incorporate the use of various tools such as the emotional processing tool and the reprogramming core wounds tool. Once your goals and anticipated milestones have been defined, you will make a commitment to taking specific action steps before our next meeting. We will then review your progress and make necessary adjustments until you reach your desired results.

New clients typically start with a 12 week commitment. Sessions last, 60-75 minutes, and are held weekly. All sessions are held via Zoom video conferencing and can be accessed from anywhere in the world.

How DoesIntegrated Attachment Theory Coaching Differ From Traditional Therapy?

Integrated Attachment Theory Coaching and therapy operate within different paradigms. While each practitioner has a unique approach, therapy typically addresses past emotional issues, whereas coaching assumes clients are healthy and focuses on where they are now, where they want to be, and how to get there. In general, coaching is more action-oriented. Through the process of self-discovery, the client becomes a co-creator of their pathway toward transformation.

Who Do You Work With?

I started coaching 2 years ago, and I have worked with a diverse range of clients from various backgrounds. I often work with professional women who are balancing the stresses of career and family life and using poor coping tools such as alcohol to manage their stress. I help them address the underlying reasons they feel stressed and generally discontent with a life that looks good on paper. Many of my clients are hard working conscientious and driven individuals who just want to feel more joy and ease in life by creating fulfilling relationships and a satisfying career in the most authentic way.

Clients who come to me are committed to their personal growth. They are open to new perspectives and ready to invest time into achieving their desired results.

Happy Clients

I had the pleasure of working with Angela one on one when I needed some coaching around a road-block I had hit in my journey of becoming alcohol free. Angela's demeanor is very intelligent and thoughtful. She has a calm manner that is contagious, and as I spilled everything on my mind, which sounded confusing and raw to my ears, I was always surprised and relieved when she would pierce through the out-pouring and offer me a connection or insight I was totally unaware of. Being coached means you have to open the parts of yourself you are least proud of, and Angela's integrity, thoughtfulness, and honesty made the experience not only comfortable but so productive. I am so happy I had the chance to have been coached by her.

When Angela and I met for our first coaching session, I was feeling very discouraged, unfocused, frustrated with myself. Angela pointed out that it’s okay to want whatever I want, regardless of how it might appear to others. She reminded me to challenge my thoughts about what I “should do” and to withhold judgment of myself as my journey progresses. This first discussion shifted my perspective and really helped set things in motion for me.Angela’s insights have been spot on for me, and empowered me to make a surprising amount of progress in less than two months. I feel better than I have for some time, and my sense of personal agency has returned. She’s a very kind, caring, and trustworthy person whose positive (but not unrealistic) attitude I greatly appreciate. I feel very lucky to call Angela my coach.

Angela was wonderful at putting me at ease, making me feel heard and seen, making me feel safe, and validating my experiences and feelings. She allowed me to be the expert in my own life yet helped me to see that by being trapped in the demands of my future, always trying to think ahead and anticipate the next worst worst-case scenario, I was preventing myself from living in the present or being willing to accept new thoughts, ideas and the possibility of an alternative future.

Angela has equipped me with practical tools and strategies with which to move away from my learned pattern of catastrophic thinking to a more positive outlook with which I can live in the here and now. I thoroughly recommend Angela as a transformative coach who with her unconditional positive support will make you feel heard and understood, while helping you overcome the obstacles that life is presenting you with, especially those that feel insurmountable. Your journey with Angela will be both enjoyable and rewarding, and the benefits you will experience will have a profound impact on all areas of your life.

Julianne

Angela has always been open and vulnerable. In addition, she offers a very empathetic note of encouragement. She was a coach in a group program I did and her openness about her own challenges really helped people to open up as she clearly identifies with each situation presented, she is able to illustrate and articulate the various methods she used to work through each challenge and the tools from the program that were helpful. Angela is very well versed on many topics and is able to quickly suggest a helpful book or podcast. She also goes above and beyond by sending added information and resources between sessions Her resourcefulness and her obvious genuine care for each individual contributes to her being a valued coach.
